Stock Sales Report |
This report could be used to generate each and every detail sales records drill down to the item level. As the report is by default sorted by item code, users would be able to compare the selling price and margin for each of the product by different salesman, and time/date. This report include all sales and sales return.
The flexible filters above to filter by salesman, product code, date range makes it useful for the report to answer questions such as: a) How much gross profit does salesman A make in a month, and give me the details of every product he/she sold. b) I would like to know the gross profit we made in selling product ABC for the last 6 months
Limitations: Since the gross profit is calculated based on per item basis, audit to check for selling below cost for certain products or by certain salesman could not be effective if invoicing or cash bills are created based on package price.

When a purchase is done on a specific item higher than its average cost, the report use green color to show that the price is rising, or that specific purchase is higher than normal (investigation may be needed). On the other hand, if the purchase is lower than the average cost, the system will show it as red color. For volatile stock prices, this report could be useful for merchandisers to adjust the selling price of the stock accordingly.

Please note that the cost of stock display is based on current cost (not the average cost at that point of time), because it would require too much re-calculation or too much storage to take a snap shop of every item in every location.
Hence, it is important to note that for audit or record purposes, it is important for the users to generate the stock balance report on the day of closing for a specific financial period.
Sometimes, if negative quantity is detected, this could be caused by the back dated transactions.
